Green Waste

Yard wastes such as grass clippings, brush and leaves are called green waste. Did you know this type of debris can be recycled? At the composting center of Texarkana Water Utilities, green waste is combined with biosolids from the wastewater treatment plant to produce Class A compost. This compost is then marketed to the public. It's a wonderful example of recycling!

The green waste drop site is located at 4000 South State Line. The following items cannot be accepted:

  • Tree stumps
  • Painted lumber
  • Furniture
  • Plywood or pressed wood
  • Cross ties
